About Us

Flow House opened on the Twinwoods Adventure site in May 2010 nearly five years after the Bodyflight wind tunnel first opened it's doors. With over 70,000 bricks laid this custom built site is a world first mixing lifestyle, sports and entertainment all under one roof.

How does the FlowRider work?

A FlowRider sprays a sheet of water, about four inches deep, over a trampoline like ride surface. This water then disperses through small holes In the grating at the back of the ride where is rejoins the water tanks underneath the ride surface.

It then travels though the filter system to be cleaned before going though the pumps and back out of the nozzles onto the ride surface to be re-circulated once again.

What is FlowBoarding?

Flowboarding is what we call surfing on the FlowRider. It combines all the best bits from surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding and skate boarding, wrapping them neatly up into one new and exciting sport. Our specially designed boards allow people of all experience levels to first try the very popular bodyboarding and then for those who are ready Flowboarding.

"The Twinwoods site is now one of the most unique venues in the whole of Europe combining the 9m wide FlowRider artifical wave, Bar & Grill and surf shop of Flow House, with the already amazing and world famous Bodyflight wind tunnel, heath club, Vertigo - simulated BASE jump and simulated driving experience of The Race Room."

How does it work?

Bodyflight is a recirculation wind tunnel. Air is drawn up though the central flight chamber by the massive propeller at the top. The air passes the propeller and continues into the ‘Air returns’; these are the hollow walls surrounding the flight chamber. The air travels all the way down to the base of the tunnel where it is directed back upwards again into the flight chamber. This style of tunnel provides perfect wall to wall and net to net air quality with no drop offs and no loss of lift.

Vertigo

Launched in September 2008 Vertigo is the extremely popular 30 metre simulated BASE jump from the top of the Bodyflight tower. You are placed in a full body harness attached to a Power Fan decender and leap from the top of the tower experiencing freefall before you gently touch down on the landing platform below.

Bar & Grill

After playing hard for the day, you’re probably ready for some refreshments and a bite to eat. The Bar & Grill is located in the Flow House and serves a range of food and drink throughout the day and into the evening. We are able to cater for small intermat groups and birthdays to large scale corporate events, either choosing from one of our menu options or allow us to create something a little more bespoke.

"We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves."
